Raku demonstration (with limited participation)

‘Raku’ meaning pleasure or enjoyment is an incredible ancient Japanese ceramic technique for firing pots. In essence, Raku is when pots are taken from a kiln while they are still glowing red hot and placed in sawdust or newspaper to catch fire. This starves the pot of oxygen, which gives the glaze a wonderful variety of colours.
